Foreign Currency Dealer Loses ZWL$120 000 To A Fraudster He Met In A WhatsApp Group
A foreign currency dealer lost ZWL$120 000 to a fraudster who he had met in a WhatsApp group. A police statement reads:
A 21-year-old Bulawayo man recently lost ZW$120 000.00 to a fraudster who posted on a WhatsApp group, purportedly looking for local currency in exchange for US dollars.
After sending the money to the fraudster’s EcoCash account, the fraudster’s phone went unreachable. Investigations into the matter are in progress.
Members of the public are warned not to engage in illegal foreign currency dealings.
