116 000 Arrested For violating COVID-19 Rules

Police have arrested 116 047 people from March to date countrywide for violating national lockdown regulations, as the number of those that have escaped from isolation centers has also risen to 285.
1 362 were arrested on Saturday for different offenses which are related to violating the rules.
Some of them were arrested for not wearing a mask, unnecessary movement, and others for the Liquor Act and Road Traffic act.
On Sunday National Police Spokesman Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi says Harare continued to have the highest numbers of arrests with 24, 925, followed by Manicaland with 22 028 and Bulawayo with 16 009 arrested.
