We are Restructuring the Health System of Zimbabwe
The Vice President and Health and Child Care Minister, Retired General Constantino Chiwenga is promising a more efficient health system delivery in the country.
Speaking at a winter maize crop assessment programme in Middle Sabi and Chiredzi district, Chiwenga revealed that the government was working hard to ensure more efficient levels of health service delivery in the country. He added that a number of measures are being put in place to mitigate the effects of Covid-19.
“We are facing a pandemic which is affecting everyone. Mr. Covid kills, let the state of affairs here in Masvingo remain like that, we have more than 100 who have lost lives. What we encourage you is to follow the basic rules that have been gazetted by WHO. So we need to always ensure hygiene, use sanitizers maintain social distancing, stay at home, we currently facing a spike in Harare, Gweru Bulawayo which have made our figures shoot up.”
“I urge you to make sure we teach the community we are living in. We are restructuring the health system of Zimbabwe we want to establish rural health care facilities up to hospitals. We want together with the ministry of finance and the health services board to see that what happened before will not be repeated. For us to achieve this I need your support. We must work together. I also urge people to observe the WHO Covid 19 guidelines,” he said.
