Chinese Miner Points Gun at Zimbabwean Worker
A Chinese miner was caught in a viral video brandishing a gun at a worker demanding his overdue salary.
The incident, which occurred at Bijuo Farm in Gweru, involved excavator operator Kholwani Dube and Ming Chang Sino-Africa Mining Investments.
In a viral video the mine worker, Dube is seen shouting, “I want my money! I want my money!” before the situation escalated, with the Chinese manager, Liu Haifeng, pointed a gun at him and fired.
Ming Chang Sino-Africa Mining Investments has since issued a statement shedding light on what they claim led to the incident on Tuesday.
According to the company, Dube had repeatedly ignored instructions from his supervisors on-site. He was warned and suspended pending an investigation.
Later that day, around 4:00 PM, the company alleges Dube forcibly took the keys to an excavator from another operator and drove it towards supervisors, Mr Hu and Mr Chen.

Alarmed, the supervisors reported the incident to Farm Manager Liu Haifeng and his deputy, Mr. Huo Haopeng.
The statement claims Dube escalated the situation further by allegedly attempting to run over Liu Haifeng with the excavator.
In response, Liu armed himself with a gun and fired a warning shot into the air.

Ming Chang alleges the situation worsened when Dube physically attacked Liu Haifeng. The two reportedly engaged in a fistfight, during which Dube stabbed Liu in the leg.
Other employees intervened, disarming Dube and taking him to the police, while Liu was rushed to the hospital for medical treatment.
The company claims that Dube was not injured during the incident and is currently in police custody.
