Hwindi Molests Girl (15)
A 35-YEAR-OLD tout from Makokoba suburb in Bulawayo has been arrested for forcibly dragging a teenage girl into a bush where he allegedly fondled her all over the body and went on to steal US$20 from her bag.
The 15-year-old girl from Thorngrove suburb, who is reportedly in Form Three at a local school was on her way home from Renkini Bus Terminus when she was indecently assaulted and robbed by Buhlebezwe Ndlovu, a tout, along Luveve Road in Makokoba suburb.
Allegations are that on 28 September 2022 and at around 9 am the victim was on her way home from Renkini Bus Terminus. Ndlovu who was in the company of 3 accomplices then approached the girl from behind. He forcibly grabbed the girl and dragged her into the bush near Burombo Flats. He started fondling and caressing her all over the body and in the process, Ndlovu and his accomplices were also trying to pin her down to the ground. As they were fondling her, Ndlovu reportedly searched her bag and took US$20.
The girl who was screaming was later rescued by a passerby who threw a stone at the suspects after she heard the girl’s cries and they ran away. The matter was reported to the police and investigations led to Ndlovu’s arrest. For the offense, Ndlovu has since appeared in court facing two counts of indecent assault and theft. He was not formally charged and was remanded in custody until October 21.
