Man Unleashes Dogs on ZBC License Inspectors
Murwira and Ndebele fled the scene when Phiri opened the gate, prosecutors claim.
David Phiri (52) has been charged with disorderly conduct for allegedly setting dogs on Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC) television license inspectors.
According to court documents, Mr. Dadley Murwira and Mr. Qhubekani Ndebele, both employed by ZBC as license inspectors, were performing their duties in Victoria Falls when they arrived at Phiri’s home on March 24, 2023.
Prosecutors allege Phiri accused the inspectors of harassing the community. He then allegedly threatened to open his gate and unleash his dogs to bite the inspectors.
Murwira and Ndebele fled the scene when Phiri opened the gate, prosecutors claim.
They reported the incident to police, leading to Phiri’s arrest. Murwira and Ndebele were unable to complete their inspection duties as a result.
Phiri, of 753 Aerodrome in Victoria Falls, appeared in court but did not enter a plea. The case was postponed pending further investigations.
