Drama in Budiriro: SA Returnee Goes Nude, Climbs Roof

Drama as South African returnee made her way to a residence in Budiriro, where she shed her clothes and ascended the roof, causing quite a spectacle.

This unusual incident unfolded on a Sunday evening.

Maria Chimuranzi, a mother of four, quickly attracted a gathering of onlookers, with some accusing her of being a witch. Despite the efforts of several men trying to coax her down, she adamantly threatened to throw herself off the roof until the police intervened and came to her rescue.

Subsequently, she was escorted to Budiriro Police Station, where she eventually divulged her story. Following that, she was taken back to Kuwadzana.

Shedding light on the situation, Maria’s cousin sister, Nomatter Chimuranzi, shared her belief that an evil spirit had been plaguing Maria. Nomatter explained that Maria had been residing in South Africa with her husband and had only returned on Friday to visit her relatives.

Nomatter narrated the events of that fateful day, recounting,

“Maria has been staying with her husband in South Africa. She came back on Friday and her mother led her to Stoneridge on Sunday morning to visit relatives.

Her mother remained in Stoneridge and Maria returned with one of our little sisters. Along the way she ordered the little sister to proceed home while she visited a church in Machipisa.

We began to worry when she failed to return home and had plans to lodge a police report. She has been attending a cult church in South Africa and we are yet to know more from her husband.

Suspicion fell upon the homeowner in Budiriro, who was deemed responsible for this bizarre episode. Enraged residents pelted the house and the owner’s vehicle, demanding an explanation for Maria’s peculiar choice of location. One resident shouted,

“Why is she shaming women by stripping at this house? Why this house, we need answers.

Thomas Mupfawa, the owner of the house, was equally taken aback by the incident. He professed his bewilderment, stating,

“I was attending a funeral when I received a call that a naked woman was on top of my house. I do not know her and I am also shocked and surprised why she targeted my house.
