According to details shared by the KZN VIP Protection Services on Facebook, the duo got nabbed after a tip-off prompted the Durban Metro Police Service Drug Team to spring into action regarding the sale of a hijacked vehicle—a White Hyundai I20, to be precise.
Members of the South African Police Service (SAPS) orchestrated a strategic move.
Undercover agents made their move in Umhlanga, Meridian Drive, where they successfully apprehended two suspects in the early hours of Wednesday.
Although one of the suspects, believed to be Owami’s Nigerian boyfriend, initially managed to give authorities the slip, he was eventually caught at Blue Lagoon.
Both suspects were processed at the Durban North South African Police Service station.
