When they left the church, the couple pondered and realised they had forked out money for UFIC. The two had spent a staggering US$1.1 million on tithes and offerings.

The Mashangwas felt bitter and decided to recoup their money. They filed a lawsuit against Emmanuel Makandiwa after he refused to pay them back the money.

However, the couple lost the suit, and High Court Judge Owen Tagu said tithes and offerings are ‘free will offerings’ which can only be recovered from God.

Zimbabweans online reacted to the news that Blessing Mashangwa has died.
