Oliver Rimai (43) was yesterday arraigned before Harare magistrate Sharon Rakafa to answer to two counts of theft.

He was remanded in custody till February 26.

The State alleged that on February 1 at around 7:45 pm, Chido Mnangagwa was driving her Mercedes-Benz along 7th Street intending to turn left into Hebert Chitepo Avenue when she stopped at the traffic lights.

The court heard that Rimai usually targets motorists whom he steals from as they stop at the traffic lights.

On that day, Rimai snatched Mnangagwa’s iPhone 15 Pro Max through an open passenger’s side window and ran away.

Chido immediately advised her brother Tichaona Viano about the incident who pursued and apprehended Rimai.

The phone, valued at US$1 900, was recovered before he was taken to the police.

On another charge, Rimai, allegedly stole a Samsung S23 Ultra and Samsung 4 Smart using the same modus operandi at the corner of 6th Street and Samora Machel Avenue when Uzziel Maukola parked his vehicle to make a phone call while the windows were open.

Maukola noted that Rimai, who was wearing black clothes, ran along 6th Street before turning into Central Avenue.

He pursued him and met a woman who identified him.

Meanwhile…

Cassper Nyovest said the devil had him when he finally spoke about his religious life on 6 February.

Cassper had been one of the most talented hip-hop artists in the country. Despite all he did, he still claimed to be a Christian, but now he has opened up, telling the truth.

Over the past few months, Cassper had been sharing bible verses and Christian quotes but never spoke in detail about what changed his life.

The Tito Mboweni hitmaker spoke much about his life growing up and how much his guardians believed in God.

However, he went on to say that he grew up thinking he knew God but did not. He went on to speak much about his spiritual journey from childhood until he encountered God.

I thought I knew God….but the devil had me.

Speaking about this spiritual journey, Cassper spoke about some of his bad habits. He openly said that he was addicted to sex, and he could try to explain and defend his actions.

Cassper also said he had a big ego, thinking he was better than everyone.
