Hubby Attacks Wife with Hoe over $10 Loan
A man left his wife battling for her life after striking her on the head with a hoe over a US$10 loan dispute.
The man, Pastor Nyamudyariwa (34), has been arrested and charged with attempted murder.
During his initial court appearance before Harare regional magistrate Mr Taurai Manuwere, Nyamudyariwa was remanded in custody until May 3.
He was informed that only the High Court had jurisdiction to consider his bail application.
According to the prosecutor, the assault occurred in New Mabvuku last Friday when Nyamudyariwa attacked his wife, Tsitsi Mhizha after she promised to repay the US$10 she borrowed the following day.
In a fit of anger, he first hit her face with a shoe before striking her head with a hoe.
Ms Mhizha sustained a deep cut and is currently receiving medical treatment at an undisclosed hospital.

Bathabile Meshia Sibanda, a 22-year-old student from Zimbabwe, has died in Poland after a brief illness.
The news has left her mother, Khawulani Sibanda, devastated and she is now reaching out to the public for support in bringing her late daughter’s body back to Zimbabwe.
Bathabile was pursuing a Long Cycle Master’s Studies in Physiotherapy at Vincent Pol University in Lublin, with the programme set to conclude on March 31, 2029.
Sadly, her time at the university was cut short during her first semester when she fell ill.
Bathabile Sibanda passed away at Lublin Public Hospital as Zimbabweans celebrated Independence Day.
According to Bathabile’s family, the postmortem examination revealed that her untimely demise was attributed to an undisclosed form of stomach cancer.
Although she was young, Bathabile’s acquaintances remember her as a quiet and introverted person who remained largely unknown to many.
