Jabulani Khumalo, a founding member of the MK Party, wanted to be their leader in Parliament. But a court case he lost recently means he can't. Khumalo said someone copied his signature to make him look like he stepped down. The judge said this wasn't true and that Khumalo actually quit the party himself. The judge also ordered Khumalo to pay costs because he wasted everyone's time with a false claim.

Khumalo accused former President Jacob Zuma and his daughter Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla of forging his signature on a form to transfer the leadership position to the former President. He was expelled alongside 6 others in April, less than a month before the elections for being ‘rebellious'.
The court ruled today that Khumalo's forgery allegations were baseless. Additionally, it found that he had voluntarily resigned from the party and that the dates align with the IEC's records regarding the change of ownership and leadership.

Judge Lebogang Modiba said: “For all the above reasons, the application also constitutes an abuse of this court's processes and a waste of its judiciary economy and the opposing respondent's resources. They incurred legal costs opposing an application that should not have seen the lights of day. It would be unfair to leave the respondents out of pocket under these circumstances.
“A punitive cost against Mr Khumalo is the appropriate way of censuring his conduct and sending a message to the public making false statements under oath and abuse of court's processes countenanced.”
On Monday, Khumalo tried to attend Parliament anyway, but they wouldn't let him because he's no longer an MK party member.
