Zimbabwe Bans Gatherings Ahead of SADC Summit
Alick Macheso’s album launch to go ahead but other entertainment events including Fiesta Fiesta have been postponed.
Zimbabwe Bans Gatherings Ahead of SADC Summit
The government has banned all gatherings ahead of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) summit in Harare, leading to the show’s postponement.
SADC is set to hold its 44th Ordinary Summit of Heads of State and Government in Harare, Zimbabwe on August 17, 2024. In light of this high-profile gathering, the Zimbabwean government has ordered the postponement of all shows and public events scheduled for August.
Music fans who were eagerly waiting to see LeeMckrazy performing at Fiesta Fiesta next month will have to wait a little longer.
Fiesta Fiesta announced that the LeeMckrazy show has been postponed on their official social media channels. The organizers stated that a new date for the concert will be announced by the end of this week.
Ticket holders can rest assured that their purchases remain valid and will be honoured for the rescheduled LeeMckrazy show.

Meanwhile, Alick Macheso’s manager, Tich Makahamadze, has allayed fears that the Orchestra Mberikwazvo frontman’s album launch will be postponed.
Macheso is set to launch his album “Kupa Kuturika” at the Alexander Sports Club in Harare on Friday. The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has given the event the green light, even though there were initial concerns about the event clashing with the SADC Industrialisation Week.
Officer Commanding Harare District, Chief Superintendent Godfrey Moyo, has advised Macheso’s camp to strictly adhere to the conditions of the clearance.
