Alick Macheso’s album launch last night at Alex Sports Club was quite noteworthy. Videos and pictures from his stellar event have already started circulating on social media.
Alick Macheso launched his much-anticipated album, titled ‘Kupa Kuturika,’ last night.
The sungura maestro filled up Alex Sports Club as scores of fans thronged his album launch event. He performed songs from his new album, which features six tracks: “Kuverengera,” “Undiregererewo,” “Zvichada Hama,” “Murangarire,” “Kunditaya,” and “Hunhu Hwakashata.”
Alick Macheso wowed his fans with his impressive performance and left them wanting more.
One video in particular, showing a ‘mbinga’ showering Alick Macheso and his dancers with money on stage during a performance, has attracted significant attention on social media.

In the video clip circulating, the mbinga can be seen on stage taking out wads of cash from his half jacket.
He began by making it rain on Alick Macheso as he performed. He then threw some money into the crowd before handing over more cash to Macheso’s dancers and band members.
Some dancers even stopped dancing to follow the mbinga as they scrambled to get a share of the money he was freely giving away.
Alick Macheso left the event loaded, as Minister Tino Machakaire and fans also generously showered him with money. Minister Machakaire gifted him US$10,000. He is also set to give him a truck.
Machakaire stated his intention to keep on supporting Macheso and wished him well as he gifted him the money.
