Deadbeat Dad and Son Reunite in Prison After 27 Years
So, there's this father-son duo who just reunited after 27 years, but here's the kicker—they're both in Khami Maximum Prison near Bulawayo.
Tafadzwa Hove, who last saw his dad Biggy Dube when he was just five, got the shock of his life when a relative connected them inside the prison walls. Can you even imagine?
Tafadzwa spilled all the tea in an interview. He was arrested in 2016 for 15 counts of robbery and initially sentenced to a whopping 369 years. But after some reductions, he's now serving a 50-year term and will be out in 2055.
He grew up with his mum's relatives in Mberengwa after his parents split, and his mum passed away. He only found out his dad was alive when he met his uncle at Chikurubi Maximum Prison in Harare. Talk about a plot twist.

When they finally met in 2019, it was super emotional. Tafadzwa had been told his dad was dead, so seeing him was bittersweet. Both of them were in tears, and Tafadzwa even got transferred to Hwahwa Prison in Gweru for a bit because the emotions were too much to handle.
Biggy Dube, who was a pastor, shared his side of the story too. He said Tafadzwa was born in 1988 after he finished his A-levels at Dadaya Mission. He and Tafadzwa's mum split because she didn't want to be in a polygamous marriage.
Biggy fell in love with his administrator in Bulawayo, and his wife accused him of rape. He got sentenced to 18 years, with two suspended, so he's serving 16 years and hopes to be out by July 2029.
