Prophet Rapes Learner | Arrest Warrants for Marconati & CCC MP

A Form Four pupil who was seeking was raped and impregnated by a prophet in Chiweshe.

Wyceance Simbarashe Chikwekwete (36), has been dragged to court and charged with rape. He pleaded not guilty. The court heard that when the girl sought help from Chikwekwete, he took her to a bush in July last year and asked her to place her underpants in a clay pot.

He then ordered the minor to lie down and raped her. The victim did not tell anyone about the rape until November last year when she discovered that she was pregnant.

Meanwhile, a warrant of arrest has been issued for Marondera businessman Francesco Marconati after he failed to show up in court for sentencing.

The businessman attended court in the morning but the matter was deferred to 2:15 pm following indications that his lawyer was engaged at the High Court.

When court resumed after lunch, Marconati was not available. The State tendered an affidavit proving that Marconati and his lawyer were no longer engaged at the High Court, thereby forcing the magistrate to issue a warrant of arrest.

In another matter, a warrant of arrest has been issued for Sunningdale Member of Parliament Maureen Kademaunga after she skipped court.

Kademaunga is being jointly charged with CCC Councillor Clayd Mashozhera, Noel Munhuwei and Daudi Jessub on three counts of attempted murder and one count of malicious damage to property.

Kademaunga’s lawyer Mr Harrison Nkomo told the court that his client was sick after having travelled from Victoria Falls where she was attending to Parliamentary business, but he did not tender any supporting evidence.

Harare regional magistrate Mrs Estere Chivasa issued the warrant of arrest and then adjourned the trial to September 16.
