Sunday Reflections: Faith Without Works is Dead
"If any man would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me." - Mark 8:34
Sunday Reflections: Faith Without Works is Dead
Today, we are going to look at three readings from the Bible: Isaiah 50:5-9, James 2:14-18, and Mark 8:27-35. These readings all talk about being strong and standing up for what is right, even when it is tough.
Sunday Reflections: The Deaf Can Hear
In the first reading, Isaiah says that God has given him a strong tongue so that he can speak up for the people. Isaiah is saying that we all have a role to play in making the world a better place. We do not have to be afraid to speak up for what is right, even if it means being different.
In the second reading, James says that faith without works is dead. He is saying that it is not enough just to believe in God. We also have to show our faith through our actions. We have to help others and stand up for what is right.
In the Gospel reading, Jesus asks his disciples who they think he is. Peter says that Jesus is the Son of God. Jesus is happy with Peter's answer, but he also tells Peter that he needs to take up his cross and follow him.
Sunday Reflections: Faith Without Works is Dead
Jesus is saying that being a Christian is not always easy. We will face challenges and difficulties, but we must never give up on our faith.
These readings are all very relevant to the situation in Zimbabwe today. We are facing many challenges, but we must never give up hope. We must continue to speak up for what is right and to help others. We must be strong and courageous, and we must always remember that God is with us.
St. Augustine once said, “Love is the fulfilling of the law.” This means that if we love God and our neighbour, we will naturally do what is right. We will be kind and compassionate, and we will stand up for what is just.
Sunday Reflections: Faith in the Tempest
So let us all commit to being strong and courageous, to speaking up for what is right, and to helping others. Let us love God and our neighbour, and let us work together to build a better Zimbabwe.
