According to eyewitnesses, the body was found in a state of advanced decomposition and the room, located in one of the hostel’s blocks, was locked from the inside. Authorities are yet to conduct an autopsy to also determine when the student died.
A video that has since gone viral on Zimbabwean social media shows a ZRP officer and some of the university’s auxiliary staff carrying the decomposed body in a metal coffin and loading it into a police pickup truck.
