Harare Businessman Survives Shootout
Detective have seen their fair share of crime in Harare, but the case that landed on their desk on September 12 was unlike any other. It all started when local businessman Blessed Runesu found himself in a life-threatening situation.
Blessed was driving his sleek Range Rover through Lot 5 Spitzkop, enjoying the sunny afternoon, when suddenly, a BMW X6 and a Toyota Prado boxed him in. The drivers of these vehicles were not there for a friendly chat. Ronald Mpopoma, Trevor Chigumba, and Fungayi Razawu, along with some unidentified accomplices, had sinister plans.
Ronald, the ringleader, stepped out of the BMW, a menacing look in his eyes. Without warning, he pulled out a gun and fired two shots at Blessed's car. The bullets whizzed past, narrowly missing their target. Blessed's driver, Rueben, didn't waste a second. With nerves of steel, he swerved the Range Rover out of the trap and sped towards the ZRP Dzivarasekwa police station.
