A Harare man is on the run after stabbing his girlfriend multiple times with a kitchen knife.
Webster Mubati brutally attacked 25-year-old Audrey Nyasha Rwambiwa over the weekend after she returned home late from a party in Harare.

Audrey, a student at Women’s University in Africa, was hospitalized and is currently fighting for her life at Parirenyatwa Hospital.
The incident occurred at Tanaka Place on Josiah Chinamano Avenue, where Audrey had been living with her boyfriend, Webster Mubati.
The attack was triggered when Audrey returned home around 3 a.m. on Saturday after attending a party at a friend’s home the previous night. Webster, enraged by her late arrival, began brutally assaulting her.
During the altercation, Webster reportedly grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed Audrey multiple times in a fit of rage. He stabbed her in her left breast, finger, arm, and ribs.

Desperate to escape, Audrey ran into the toilet, but Webster followed and continued the attack, stabbing her on the back and left shoulder.
Audrey managed to lock herself in the bathroom and later broke a window to escape.
She sought help from neighbors, who quickly responded and rushed her to Parirenyatwa Hospital, where she is currently being treated for her injuries.
Webster fled the scene after the attack, and the police are now searching for him.
Harare provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, confirmed that they are investigating the incident and called for any information that may lead to Webster’s arrest.
“Police are investigating an attempted murder case involving a university student who was stabbed by her lover. The suspect fled after the attack, and the victim is currently receiving treatment at the hospital,” said Inspector Chakanza.
