27 Passengers Robbed By 3 Gunmen Along Beitbridge-Masvingo Highway.
27 Passengers who boarded an MB Transport Bus headed for Beitbridge were robbed yesterday by three-man at gunpoint.
The incident is said to have happened soon after the Lumumba tollgate along Beitbridge-Masvingo highway.
One of the passengers who spoke to zimtrending on conditions of anonymity said that the robbers were the first ones to board the Bus at Mbudzi as the bus was coming from Harare and she said that they travelled safely without even suspecting anything until the three gunmen stood up and threatened the driver to slow down and turn the bus to go into a nearby bush.
The witness went on to say that the robbers stabbed one of the passengers who was sitting in front to show everyone how serious they were and started to collect peoples valuables and money.
The driver Mr Thembane Ngwenya and conductor are said to have lost a lot of money they had made and some of it they had been given by people to buy some goods for them in South Africa for resale.
This incident happened a few hours after a quantum which was just behind the bus was robbed by a honda fit which threw spikes in front of the moving car.
