Breaking News: Gringo Dies
Lazarus Boora the legendary comedian who was popularly known as Gringo has died.
He was 47.
Gringo died this morning and the news was confirmed by the association of private practitioners in Zimbabwe. They tweeted:Â
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing on of Lazarus Boora this morning. He passed on this morning surrounded by family members. May his soul rest in peace
Gringo was admitted at Westview Hospital in Zimre Park and he was suffering from intestine obstruction since October last year.
Gringo was getting free treatment courtesy of the Medical and Dental Private Practitioners of Zimbabwe Association.
He rose to fame through his jokes and funny acting in the highly popular Gringo dramas in the late '90s and early 2000s. Testimony to his acting prowess, Boora won the Best Actor award at the inaugural National Arts Merit Awards (NAMA) in 2002.
