Developing: Teachers Stranded at Banks

Education sector workers are reportedly stranded at banks after being told by bank officials that their salaries haven't reflected in their accounts yet.

The educators are seen sleeping in the corridors and pavements in Harare.

One female teacher who refused to be named said:

“We have been here since morning. They have been telling us to wait for the money to reflect in the accounts but up to now nothing has happened. The bank is also clueless. They said they are also waiting.”

Education sector workers are among the least paid in SADC region.
