A massive fire broke out at Top Gear Panel Beaters in Marondera, reducing at least 20 cars to ashes.
The fire left vehicle owners devastated and raised serious concerns about the preparedness of Marondera Municipality in handling such emergencies.
According to eye witnesses at the scene expressed their disappointment with the municipality’s delayed response to the fire outbreak.
One witness stated,
We are very saddened with this incident which occurred just across the fire workshop. It shows our council is not prepared.
Another resident added,
My trailer was in there. Fortunately, I had taken my car, but this is very unfortunate.
The lack of immediate action by the municipality has left residents questioning the effectiveness of the local authorities in addressing such emergencies.
