Henrietta Rushwaya has been convicted of trying to smuggle 6kgs of gold to Dubai
The President of the Zimbabwe Miners Federation, Henrietta Rushwaya, has been convicted of attempting to smuggle gold worth a staggering US$333,000 out of the country.

The incident unfolded at Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport (RGM) in Harare, where Rushwaya was apprehended while attempting to board a flight to Dubai.
The trial, which captivated the nation, revealed that Rushwaya was arrested with the gold in her possession.
In her defense, she claimed that she had mistakenly taken the wrong bag, which led to her unknowingly carrying the precious metal.
According to a communication from the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ), Rushwaya has been detained in custody pending sentence which will be handed down on 10th November 2023.
