Nyakatondo used the counterfeit certificates to secure admission to a university in Poland, where he pursued a degree.

Earlier this month, Nyakatondo got arrested when investigators discovered his fraudulent Advanced Level certificate in the computer of suspected serial fraudster Molyn Mugodi.

He was found guilty when he appeared before Harare provincial magistrate Feresi Chakanyuka.

The court proceedings revealed that Nyakatondo, aiming to study Business Administration in Poland, initially faced challenges due to his educational qualifications being limited to Ordinary Level.

To bolster his chances, he approached Admire Manyemba, an agent specializing in international institutions, seeking assistance with his application.

When prospects seemed bleak, Nyakatondo consented to forge a ZIMSEC Advanced Level certificate to enhance his eligibility.

The Prosecution evidenced that Manyemba engaged another individual, Mugodi, paying her US$150 to fabricate the counterfeit ZIMSEC Advanced Level certificate.

This fraudulent document portrayed Nyakatondo as a candidate who had purportedly taken the November 2020 examinations.

Harare Magistrate Feresi Chakanyuka, presiding over the case, took into account Nyakatondo’s youthfulness and clean record as a first-time offender.
