Teacher Used to Peep Under Female Learners' Skirts

A teacher, who has since been transferred to the district office, allegedly lined up female pupils in his class and lifted up their skirts to peep under. They claimed that boys were not excluded. Some had to show him their private parts.

From there, he would allegedly masturbate right in front of them. According to the learners, it has been a daily thing since 2018.

In a video lasting a few seconds that went viral, the teacher was allegedly captured sitting with female pupils passing by for him to check under their skirts.

Pupils claim they reported this to some members of the staff at the school, but nothing was done about it.

One pupil said:

It was like part of the curriculum, and we were left traumatised every day.

On Monday, 12 August, angry parents said enough is enough and blew the whistle on the grades 8 to 11 vernacular and History teacher at the Daveyton, Ekurhuleni, school.

They protested outside the school demanding his removal. This pushed district officials to act. He was escorted out of the school on Monday, 12 August.

One parent said:

It was painful for me, as a mum, to always hear my daughter report what the teacher did to them on a daily basis. We're relieved that he's been removed from the school.

Pupils told the reporter that the teacher smokes dagga. One of the pupils said:

He would tell us he's been to jail and has been through a lot in life. He said it's not going to affect him even though we reported him. He's an old man who is supposed to protect us.

Some claimed he threatened to harm them should they report him. Another learner said:

He would say what we do here, ends here.

Spokesman for the Gauteng Department of Education, Steve Mabona said:

We've launched an investigation, and the said teacher has been precautionary transferred to the district.
