Payment Dispute: Mambo Dhuterere Out of Music Festival

Mambo Dhuterere has dropped a bombshell: he's bailing on the Africa Music Festival in the UK this weekend. Why, you ask? Well, it's all about the moolah.

Mambo was all set to rock the stage alongside Alick Macheso, Koffi Olomide, Makhadzi, Chef 187, and Tocky Vibes. The festival's going down at Abbey Park in Leicester this Saturday.

But hold your horses! There's more! There's an after-party at Kapital Venue on Saturday, and guess what? Another show on Sunday at the same spot!

Now, Mambo Dhuterere spilled the tea on Facebook. Apparently, the festival bigwigs promised him the dough once he touched down in the UK. But guess what? The contract said something else! Y2K Entertainment Promotions is behind this whole shebang, by the way.

Mambo's words? “It’s unfortunate we won’t be attending due to a minor misunderstanding… I personally thank Y2K for believing in me and for the opportunity to share the stage with African giants. To our fans in Europe, thank you…

“They secured visas and bought tickets for everyone, but management decided that Europe is too far to risk being paid upon arrival when the contract stipulates payment before departure.”

And Mambo's heartbroken. Seriously, he's got feels for his fans who were psyched to see him live in the UK. He said:

“I’m heartbroken, and I know my supporters feel the same. Your disagreements affect me and my fans significantly; some people gave up everything to come and see Mambo, and that means a lot to me. I love you all.”
