Harare Council construct graves to meet international standards
Harare Council has joined hands with Swaszy Granite in building tamper-proof executive graves that match international standards.
Swaszy Granite is constructing over 3000 graves at Warren Hills Executive Memorial Park which will be monitored on GPS with a cemetery management software to locate graves over the computer and sold in advance.
Chief Parks and Cemeteries Officer Godfrey Batsirai Munetsi, said this project had been planned a long time ago but failed to pull through over the years because of the lack of resources, but now a lot of progress has been made.
“One hundred and seven graves had been constructed by Tuesday 3 September”, Said Munetsi

“The coffin will be laid on granite stone while the top cover will also be in granite, council collects burial fees to allow for the interment of the grave owners”, Said Chagaresango.
