Masiyiwa Offers Striking Doctors $5000 Monthly Allowance To Resume Work

Econet founder Strive Masiyiwa‘s Higher Life Foundation has come to the rescue of the country’s striking doctors by offering them ZWL 5000(US310) extra on top of their current government salaries

The doctors will also get a smartphone, a VAYA taxi ride from home, uniforms and diagnostic aids.

However, the offer is only available to 2000 doctors who are currently employed by the government. The foundation has also stressed that the initiative to pay doctors is unilateral and was not developed in consultation with the government or doctors.
