Update On Harare Drive & Borrowdale Road Accident
Five people have been confirmed dead while 11 others were injured some of them seriously in a road traffic accident involving a pick-up truck and a haulage truck at the intersection of Harare drive and Borrowdale road Thursday morning.
An official from the Zimbabwe Republic Police confirmed the development however referring all questions to Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi, who however refused to speak to this reporter arguing that he did not know them.
The confirmation comes following a social media alert urging citizens to confirm the whereabouts of their friends and relatives following the accident which occurred today morning.
The alert claimed that 10 people had died on the spot but the legislator for Harare North, Rusty Markham also posted another alert claiming that an estimated 6 people had died on the spot.
However, Markham said while he did not wish to speculate, the scene that he had witnessed was “dreadful”.
