Zimbabwean Company Modify Honda Fit Vehicle To Run On LP Gas

A Local company Intergas has unveiled a modified Honda Fit Hybrid vehicle that runs on both Petrol and Liquid Petroleum Gas(LPG) which is used in homes for cooking.
The Hybrid car was unveiled in a video shared on social media that showed the system at work. Despite LPG vehicles existing elsewhere in the world, No company in Zimbabwe was doing the conversions until now.
Zimbabwe is currently facing serious fuel shortages reminiscent of the pre-2008 era with motorists spending days in fuel queues just to fill up. Intergas’s prototype runs on both Petroleum and LPG hence making it the most convenient choice for motorists as LP Gas is readily available without waiting in a queue
The Hybrid fuel system can be installed on existing ex-Japanese vehicles with minor tweaks being done to the engine to allow the use of LPG as a fuel. One of the Advantages of LPG is that it is a cleaner fuel hence reduces the carbon footprint, Secondly, modern advances in the technology have seen LP Gas delivering the same level of performance as Petrol hence motorists won’t feel the difference. Lastly, if you run out of petrol in the middle of nowhere, you can easily switch to LP Gas mode at the click of a button and you will be able to continue on your journey. Think of it as having 2 Fuel tanks in your car.
