The Zimbabwe Revenue and Allied Workers Trade Union (ZIMRATU) has released an official letter announcing the worker’s withdrawal of Labour at the Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport due to an occupational hazard of possible exposure to the Covid-19.

In the official letter which was addressed to the ZIMRA General Commissioner, the ZIMRATU stated that all ZIMRA workers stationed at the Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport shall not report for duty with immediate effect until proper measures are taken to substantially mitigate the spread of the deadly coronavirus.

This official letter was released soon after discovering that the late Zororo Makamba, recorded as the first coronavirus death in the country was served by ZIMRA staff at the Airport without any proper stop-gap facilities to mitigate the possible spread of the deadly virus.
