The Vice President took a tour at the Mashonaland East Provincial isolation facility for Covid-19.
With the pictures received by zimtrending, Chiwenga was fully dressed in protective clothing whilst being welcomed by nurses and doctors in only their uniforms.
Chiwenga was also checking on how people were complying with the regulations of the 21-day national lockdown which ends on Sunday at midnight.
Vice President Chiwenga visited Mudzi district hospital and Muzezuru clinic in Kotwa, Mutoko. He also toured the quarantine centre for returning residents formerly known as Nyamapanda Temporary Reception centre for migrants and asylum seekers. He continued with his tour and went to hospitals and clinics in Marondera and Hwedza.
Below are the visuals of the tour:
Vice President Chiwenga recently came back in March from China where he spent two weeks receiving treatment for an undisclosed medical ailment. He probably took an extra precaution due to his health condition.
However, it seems that social media users are now impressed that Chiwenga got to wear a full PPE kit at a time when doctors and nurses have been complaining about the lack of adequate protective clothing for frontline health workers.
