Musician Carlos Green Wife Dies DRC
Carlos Green is devastated after losing his wife of six years.The 32-year-old said his wife Shupikai Chapendama died last Friday after a short illness in the Democratic Republic of Congo where she had been deployed.
She was 43.
Speaking to H-Metro, the flamboyant rapper turned Afro-fusion crooner said he was grounded after losing a soulmate, who changed his life.
“I’m devastated and grounded to say the least,” said the Vane Mari Vauya band leader as he struggled to come to terms with Shupikai’s death.
The Chitungwiza bred singer said Shupikai’s loss was irreplaceable as she was a pillar.
“Shupikai died after a short illness and I only received the sad news over the weekend.
“Life will never be the same without her because Shupi is the only person who made Carlos Green what he is today.
“Ndiye munhu akanditoresa kubva ku Drivers licence, she is the first person to make sure that I boarded a plane and that I wear expensive clothes.
“In short, Shupi is the only person who made this brand called Carlos Green what it is today.
“My heart is bleeding and I am grounded right now because life will never be the same without her.
“She loved me as I am and I loved her too from the first day we met.
“I would have loved to be with her for a longer period but denga ratonga,” he said.
Carlos green said the death of Shupikai came at a time when they were planning to cement their relationship with a wedding.
“We were in the process of planning a wedding ceremony in October and we were running around so that the ceremony lives to expectations.
“I don’t even know what to do considering we were miles ahead planning the event.”
On Shupikai’s burial arrangements, Carlos Green added:
“From what I gathered, the burial has been set for later this week after the arrival of the body on Wednesday.
“I’m yet to gather finer details from the in-laws but I heard that the body is expected in the country later this week.”
“By the way, she died in DRC because she was working there an operations manager for one of the leading food outlets.
“Despite the distance and Covid-19 restrictions which do not allow us to move, we were always in touch talking about life, business and of course my career.”
Carlos Green is one of the few celebrities in Zimbabwe who hardly paraded their spouses in public as is the case with others.
“I have always respected my privacy but all the love songs that I did were dedicated to Shupi .
“In fact, I have a song titled Shupi and my fans knows the song,” he said.
