St faith student commit suicide

A form Four Student at St Faith committed suicide on 23 September 2022 after he was accused of being a Satanist after he refused to join School's Scripture Union.

The student named Tatenda Kapuya is said to have left a letter directed at the Headmaster, his Staff, and children at school for isolating him and calling him a satanist for refusing to join a prayer and fasting group.

Tatenda is said to have been depressed by the way he was being treated by the school as he refused to join the group saying his parents had told him not to join any groups of prayer which were taken by the school authorities and students as a way of showing that he was a Satanist.

The school headmaster, A Makamba confirmed his death in a memo to parents written

“Good evening dear parents and guardians. It is with a heavy heart that informs you of the passing of one of our student Tatenda Kapuya in 4B. Tatenda committed suicide this afternoon around 1 pm.
