ZBC News Reader Distances Self From Station's Censorship of Winky D
Zayn is seen intentionally omitting Winky D's name whilst announcing the Zimbabwean artists that feature on the Bob Marley tribute album.

ZBC news reader Zayn Jammo has distanced himself from the censorship of Winky D's name at the state broadcaster. This comes after a video went viral on social media where the news reader is shown to have intentionally ommited Winky D's name in announcing the Zimbabwean artists that feature on the Bob Marley tribute album. The news reader had only referenced Nutty O and then mentioned “other African artists”.

The backlash over this bias against Winky D and his brand must have prompted the news reader to respond on Instagram. In his Instagram post, Zayn the news reader quoted Winky D's lyrics from the controversial and also censored song Ibotso that rattled the top echelons of power when it was released as part of the heavily censored Eureka album.
Zayn said:
Ini ndirimuverengi wenhau chete. Handina pfumo, handina bakatwa. Musandikande pasi kunge hakata.
It remains to be seen what action ZBC which has unofficially censored Winky D will make of its news reader.
