Mayweather's Scott Loses Mabvuku-Tafara

After running a big money campaign that included bringing in rapper Rick Ross in December and boxing legend Floyd Mayweather Jnr in July and promising to bring rapper DaBaby in September on top of providing free transport, free medical care, food hampers for the elderly, Pedzisai Scott Sakupwanya was clobbered in Mabvuku-Tafara.

Double Candidates Do Little Damage

Scott lost the Mabvuku-Tafara constituency seat to Munyaradzi Kufahakutizwi of the CCC.

Scott who is one of the most moneyed candidates to ever contest in this election ran the one of most flamboyant campaigns in the history of Zimbabwean elections.

His choice of campaign strategy was either ill-informed or a huge leap of faith considering that people of Mabvuku-Tafara have historically voted against Zanu-PF since the emergence of a strong opposition party in the form of Morgan Tsvangirai's MDC party.

A disappointing twist to his loss is a video that has emerged on social media which is believed to have been recorded following his defeat.

In the video, Scott allegedly threatens retribution against the Mabvuku-Tafara residents for letting him spend his money when they knew that they were not going to vote for him.
