Pastor Strangles Colleague at Church Meeting
A clergyman of a certain vintage, Misheck Ndlovu, 62, of Hope In Christ Church in Binga, Matabeleland North Province, condescended to appear before the Hwange Magistrates' Court to face charges of assault, a tawdry affair indeed.
It appears that on April 16, 2024, Ndlovu and his fellow pastor engaged in a most unseemly altercation at a pastors' meeting at Kabwe Children's Home.
Following a misunderstanding, Ndlovu was rightly expelled from the gathering.
However, instead of taking his leave, he lingered near the gate, nursing his wounded ego.
A certain Michael Nsingo approached Ndlovu and attempted to engage in conversation, a gesture that only served to further inflame Ndlovu's ire.
The complainant, in a moment of ill-advised temerity, invited Nsingo inside, a decision that provoked Ndlovu to physically assault him, knocking him to the ground and throttling him.
Fortunately, two pastors intervened, preventing further harm.

Ndlovu was subsequently taken into custody and sentenced to 14 months' imprisonment, with 6 months suspended for 5 years. He shall serve 8 months, a fitting punishment for such unbecoming behavior.
