Shocking: Suspected Cause of Murisi Zwizwai's Death
Friends of the late Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) Senator Murisi Zwizwai have revealed his cause of death.
Zwizwai passed on in the early hours of 1 June 2024 at a hospital in Harare. The veteran opposition politician had a career spanning over two decades in the trenches.
Friends of the CCC senator revealed that a few days ago, he had complained of a bad bout of flu. Member of Parliament for Kuwadzana, Charlton Hwende said:
“He was complaining of flue since Wednesday and got worse on Friday and his wife took him to the hospital around 7PM. He was admitted and sadly passed on around 3AM.”
Murisi Zwizwai was one of the founding members of the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC).
Shocking: Suspected Cause of Murisi Zwizwai's Death
Former CCC President Nelson Chamisa confirmed this in his condolence message:
“Have learnt with deep sadness on the passing of Hon Murisi Zwizwai in the early hours of this morning [1 June]. We worked together from the early days of the struggle for change and freedom in Zimbabwe. He was affable, jocular, generous and jovial. My prayers are with the family and friends. RIP Murambwi.”
In 2003, Zwizwai became the Harare Central Member of Parliament after a by-election that replaced Mike Auret, who resigned due to illness. During the Government of National Unity (GNU), he was the Deputy Minister of Media, Information and Publicity.
When Nelson Chamisa broke away from the MDC and formed the CCC in 2022, Zwizwai was one of the founding politicians.
