One person is feared dead after a goods train collided with a bus in an accident at the railway crossing along Lytton Road in Harare.
Two Buses in Collision with Haulage Truck
The collision occurred in the early hours of this morning at a rail crossing along Lyton and Paisley Road in Harare.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) is yet to reveal details of the accident and confirm the casualties.
The beat-down bus is suspected to have attempted to speed up and cross the railway line before the train. However, the heavy vehicle was too slow to pass, and the train collided with it. The bus swerved and hit an electric railway pole at the crossing.
The railway crossing along Lytton Road has no warning lights or gates that close when a train is approaching. Also, a lot of public vehicle drivers deliberately fail to stop at railway crossings, hoping to beat the train.
Meanwhile, former Citizens Coalition for Change MPs Prince Dubeko Sibanda and Pashor Sibanda are lucky to be alive after a nasty accident last night.

Pashor and Prince Dubeko were driving from Mashonaland East at night when they got into the crash. When they were a few kilometres from Bulawayo, where they stay, a donkey emerged suddenly on the road, and they knocked it before losing control of their truck.
Their vehicle then smashed into another Honda Fit at the spot. The two are, however, safe following the crash.
Opposition politician Promise Mkwananzi confirmed the news on his X account last night:
“Prince Dubeko Sibanda and Pashor Sibanda [were] involved in an accident a few kilometres from Bulawayo, but they’re safe. They hit a donkey and collided with a Honda Fit, but they are safe. They were coming from a program in Mashonaland East. We thank God for their protection and safety!”
