A guidance counselor in Connecticut is accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a middle school student, according to authorities.
The investigation started in April 2024 when police received an anonymous call from a man who said he discovered inappropriate messages between 47-year-old Luisa Melchionne and a 13-year-old boy.
The caller later emailed 17 screenshots of alleged text messages with explicit photos and money transactions between the Melchionne and the student, according to the affidavit.
Police interviewed the 13-year-old boy, who told police that the abuse began with Melchionne when he was in the 7th grade.
He told police that he would meet with Melchionne in her office, where she would perform sexual acts, including giving him “lap dances.”

The boy also told police that she would send him money for food and Uber rides.
According to the affidavit, the child said the abuse ended when he was transferred.
However, he said he continued to receive phone calls from Melchionne, but she would only use her office phone because she was afraid her husband would find out.
Melchionne was arrested and charged with second-degree sex assault and two counts of risk of injury to a minor. Her bond was set at $500,000.
Melchionne’s defense attorney, Mark Sherman, told The Hour that these are all accusations.

“What we do know is that these charges are being brought against a devoted wife and mother who has dedicated over 20 years to her profession, and it’s going to take some time to investigate this case,” he said.
