Eddie Cross Wary of 85k Chinese Workers in Zimbabwe
85 000 Chinese are now working in Zimbabwe, according to President Mnangagwa's personal adviser Eddie Cross.
In a long post on X (formerly Twitter), Cross said the presence of the Chinese nationals is not a sign of any economic development but of callous pillaging of the country's mineral resources assisted by bribed senior Government and top military men.

Eddie contends that Zimbabwe has some of the largest mineral deposits in the world and yet the presence of the Chinese is not resulting in any development.
He adds that the presence of 85 000 Chinese shows that, China is not even worried about creating employment for locals but it is even bringing workers for the most menial jobs from home.

The development on the ground indicates that the Chinese are here to stay, attracted by an abundant and cheap mineral resource offered by Government on a silver platter.

Footage of yesterday’s crash-landing showed the Jeju Air flight sliding on its belly at high speed, hitting an earthen embankment and erupting into a fireball at Muan International Airport in South Korea.
Videos showed neither the back nor front landing gear were visible as smoke poured from the back of the sliding aircraft.
Just two of the 181 people on board the South Korean airliner survived.
It is the deadliest aviation disaster to hit South Korea since 1997, when a Korean Airlines Boeing 747 crashed in the Guam jungle, leaving 228 people dead.
