Sarudzai appeared at the Harare Civil Court seeking a protection order against her Marison claiming that he had turned violent after she expressed her unhappiness with their intimacy and his “small” manhood.
“I cannot continue staying with someone who fails to satisfy me as a woman,” she told the court.
Sarudzai alleged that Marison assaulted her when she raised the issue and locked her out of their home for two days when she refused to be intimate with him.
She accused Marison of controlling behaviour, saying:
He does not allow me to go out with my friends because he’s afraid I will cheat on him. We are now separated, but he still takes my groceries and shares them with his brothers.

Sarudzai stated that she had moved into another room to avoid conflict, but Marison continued to interfere in her life.
If I could leave this marriage and find a man who meets my needs, I would be much happier.
Marison did not dispute the allegations regarding Sarudzai’s dissatisfaction but accused her of reckless behaviour. He said:
This woman drinks excessively, even while breastfeeding, putting our children at risk.
He claimed that her conduct had led to family problems, including their daughter eloping. Marison alleged that Sarudzai frequently stayed out overnight, claiming to be with a man named Austin.
Whenever I try to discipline her for her behaviour, she insults me, saying I am not a man because of my small manhood.
The court granted a protection order in favor of Sarudzai, providing her with relief from the alleged abuse.
