Dynamos Players in Age Cheating Scandal
Mandivei claimed he was 22 when he participated in a football tournament in 2018, but he is still 24, seven years later.

Dynamos Players in Age Cheating Scandal
Harare football giants Dynamos FC have unveiled former Yadah FC defender Clive Mandivei, but instead of celebrating the signing, fans are questioning the defender’s age.
The club announced that Mandivei is 24 years old and has signed a two-year contract with the Glamour Boys.
“We are pleased to present to you our new Glamour Boy, Clive Mandivei. The 24-year-old centre back has signed a two-year contract after joining us from Yadah FC,” Dynamos said in a statement.
Interestingly, Mandivei participated in the 2018 Chelsea/Shields campaign, where coaches from Chelsea visited Zimbabwe to conduct a grassroots football training camp.
Records from that initiative indicate Mandivei was 22 at the time, raising eyebrows as he is now stated to still be 24, seven years later.
In a similar case, Dynamos also introduced midfielder Kibaki Dhlamini, claiming he is 25 years old.

“Dynamos FC is delighted to announce the signing of midfielder Kibaki Dhlamini from Yadah FC. The 25-year-old signed a two-year contract with the Glamour Boys until December 2026,” reads the Dynamos statement.

But once again, fans and local publications dug into his history and found discrepancies. In 2018, Dhlamini played for Shabanie Mine against Dynamos in a league match—meaning he was already an established player at the time.
Further records show that he wrote his O’ Level exams at Marlborough High School in 2013. Based on the age Dynamos is claiming, he would have been just 13 years old at the time—highly unusual for an ordinary student.
As speculation swirled, efforts to get a comment from Dynamos coach Lloyd Chigowe were unsuccessful, as his phone went unanswered.
The club has yet to address the growing debate over its players’ official ages.
