Meet Takwana Tyaranini A Zimbabwean Who Started Sendittoo
Zimbabwean entrepreneur Takwana Tyaranini first started Senditoo with his Guinean counterpart Ibrahima Soumano a few years ago in London.
Tyaranini had just lost his job after working as a mental health practitioner in the UK for more than 15years. Instead of trying to get another job in a field he was familiar with, he struck out with his business partner on an idea he sure was a winner.
Senditoo started as an application that you use to send airtime back home. With over 140 countries, a network of 400 mobile operators with a combined reach of 4,5 billion prepaid users daily, it managed to raise a million dollars in funding from 2016-2019.
Tyaranini said they made a strategic decision to chase numbers first, In their research, they found out that there were 250million immigrants that live outside of their countries.
They targeted first Nigerians and Indians and countries with huge populations that live in the UK
Senditoo is now offering customers both the option to send airtime and money synchronously. The company signed a guaranteed partnership with leading financial institution Banc ABC Zimbabwe, securing US dollar cash pickups in all Banc ABC branches across Zimbabwe. The company is now worth millions of pounds.
Takwana Tyaranini was born in Zimbabwe.
