Former CAPS United player Patrick Folani, once celebrated for his skills on the field, has found himself making headlines for all the wrong reasons.
Caught on CCTV, the ex-CAPS United and Chrome Stars player was spotted stealing a bottle of whiskey from a liquor shop in Kwekwe on a seemingly ordinary Saturday.
Folani was seen in the company of two women during the liquor store heist. One of the women swiftly handed him the stolen bottle, it raising possiblity that it was a shoplifting syndicate.
Reports suggest that Folani has taken up forex trading and has allegedly been involved in fraudulent activities, duping unsuspecting individuals.
Furthermore, there are claims that his involvement in such illicit practices has resulted in the neglect of his own family.
One insider, who wished to remain anonymous, said:
He was in the company of two women who took the whiskey from the shelf, passed it on to him, and he went out with it.
It looks like a syndicate he has been working with to steal from shops.
The CCTV footage captures Folani standing next to a woman at the whiskey shelf, as she hands him the stolen bottle. Subsequently, he brazenly exits the store, with the woman following closely behind.
According to a local publication, authorities have been alerted to the CCTV footage, and Folani has been confronted about the incident. He has since been ordered to reimburse the liquor store for the stolen whiskey.
