The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education has denied the rumors circulating on social media that schools will reopen on September 12.
The Deputy Director of Communications in the Ministry, Patrick Zumbo, addressed the issue, assuring the public that there have been no changes to the academic calendar.
He emphasized that schools will open on September 4 and close on December 1, according to the original schedule.
There are no changes and schools are opening on the 4th of September and will close on December 1 as initially planned.
The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education encourages parents, students, and the general public to stay informed through official channels and to disregard any misinformation that may be circulating on social media platforms.
In a recent warning issued by the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP), the public has been urged to refrain from participating in unlawful gatherings throughout the country.
Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi, the ZRP spokesperson, expressed concerns about social media messages that openly incite violence and promote illegal gatherings.
The ZRP has observed that some of these messages are being circulated by individuals residing outside the country, and they caution locals against allowing themselves to be exploited for criminal activities.

They also issued a warning to politicians who are sending false information locally and internationally about the security situation in the country, cautioning them that they risk being arrested
The ZRP emphasized their commitment to maintaining peace and order in the country, stating that they are fully alert and prepared to deal decisively with any disruptive elements that may attempt to disturb the current peaceful environment.
