A tragic incident unfolded near the Sunway City turn-off along the Harare-Mutare highway, resulting in a devastating toll: four individuals lost their lives, and ten others sustained injuries.
The accident occurred yesterday afternoon when a commuter omnibus, carrying 18 passengers, careened off the road and overturned following a loss of control by the driver. The vehicle somersaulted three times before finally coming to a halt.
Commissioner Paul Nyathi, the national police spokesperson, confirmed these harrowing details, highlighting that the injured victims are currently undergoing treatment at Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals.
Authorities are actively engaged in investigating the circumstances surrounding this tragic event.
Meanwhile, Cleo Nyakatera, a 28-year-old man from Shurugwi, has been taken into custody after allegedly stabbing his girlfriend multiple times during a confrontation over suspicions of infidelity.

The incident occurred late on July 6, 2024, at Mambowa business center in Shurugwi.
Nyakatera, employed as an artisanal miner at Wanderer Mine, returned home to find his girlfriend absent. Later, he discovered her at the Mambowa business center with another man, who she purportedly identified as her new boyfriend. This discovery sparked a heated argument between Nyakatera and his girlfriend, during which she reportedly hit him on the head with an empty beer bottle.

Later that evening, around 10 pm, the woman returned home inebriated, leading to another altercation between the couple. Allegedly, Nyakatera struck her on the head with an empty beer bottle, causing her to fall and bleed profusely. He then allegedly broke a beer bottle and proceeded to stab her multiple times in the head.
