Stroke: Rapper Da Les Hospitalised
Popular rapper Da Les, has been been hospitalised after suffering a stroke. Da Les, real name Leslie Jonathan Mampe Jr, even missed his 39th birthday party on Friday after falling sick.
His management apologised on his Instagram page when they posted that, “due to unfortunate circumstances he was not able to attend.”

On Sunday, his family released a statement to confirm his hospitalisation of the rapper popularily known as “The North God”.
The statement read, “The family of renowned South African musician Da Les is deeply saddened to inform the public that he suffered a stroke at home on Friday, 26 July 2024, and has been hospitalised.”

The statement continued: “Whilst he is in a stable condition, this remains a challenging time for his loved ones and his family calls on the public to keep him in their thoughts and prayers as they navigate this difficult period. Updates on Da Les' condition will be provided as they become available.Thank you for your continued support.”
The friend of the slain rapper AKA is not the first to suffer a stroke in recent years. Durban-based and popular Gqom artist L'vovo Derrango was admitted to hospital during the festive season in 2022 after suffering from.a stroke during a performance in Ndwedwe, KwaZulu-Natal.
Award-winning Gqom musician Mampintsha died at the age of 40 after he was admitted to hospital due to a stroke.
